Savoré’s Spring Salad with Strawberries & Orange

My mom, Carolyn, is the matriarch of the gourmet gene in our family.  She created this salad using  ingredients from Savoré.  I  featured this recipe in June on the WFRV- CBS morning show, and my daughter, Andrea, took some to a neighborhood cook-out.  We both received rave reviews with record requests for the recipe.  It's perfect when the strawberries are at their peak, and makes a beautiful, colorful presentation.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups packed shredded romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup orange sections
  • ½ thinly sliced red onion

Dressing

  • 1 Tablespoon Sherry Vinegar
  • 1½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • ½ cup Meyer Lemon Olive Oil
  • Sea salt and fresh cracked pepper

Instructions

Place all ingredients for salad in large bowl. Mix together ingredients for dressing until creamy. Dress salad and toss gently.
